Portrait, soldier, Grenada October 1983Debi started her photographic career by taking black and white photos of the US invasion of Grenada in October 1983. The photos were widely exhibited at the time and were in individual and group exhibitions appearing at the Africa Centre, Brixton Recreation Centre and the Royal Festival Hall, as well as in several publications.
She has a Diploma in Photojournalism and was a founder member of the Out Take Photography Collective. She was also active in Women Focusing, a national organisation for women photographers and Spectrum – a group organising national exhibitions of women’s work. The photographs taken by Out Take appeared in many publications and the collective collaborated on numerous commissioned exhibitions for charities, local government departments and voluntary sector groups.

Portrait, coupleDebi and Greg have been working together since 1992 on a variety of projects including wedding and other social photography, portraiture, publicity and social documentary. Greg concentrates on medium format photos that combine traditional methods with a modern approach and Debi does 35mm reportage.

In recent years, they have attempted to de-stress their lives and have given up the high pressure world of wedding photography (except for friends!)

See below for what we do for current areas of work and availability.

What We Do

We now concentrate on commissioned work for not-for-profit organisations. With almost twenty years of working in this sector, we have vast experience of the specific needs of charities and voluntary organisations.

We work in colour or black and white, medium or 35mm formats. Recent commissions include:

  • photographing conferences and other events
  • providing photos for websites e.g. www.advicenow.org.uk/
  • selling photos from our extensive library
  • providing photos for annual reports, leaflets, exhibitions and publications

How We Do It

Recognising the need for flexibility in the not-for-profit sector, we have devised different ways of working, with each commission negotiated individually.

  • If you need a range of photos from which to make a limited choice, we will negotiate a fixed fee with you to cover the setting up and taking of the photos, depending on the subject range, time factors etc. We then charge a fixed amount per 36 frame 35mm film (you decide in advance how many films you want us to use - either colour or black & white). That way, you can choose how much to spend according to your specific needs. We then deliver the whole set of photos printed 5x7” (not a contact sheet) from which you can make your final selection. We generally charge £15 per print. In most cases, we are prepared to waive our copyright so that you have unlimited use of your chosen photos and do not have to pay additional reproduction fees each time they are used.
  • If you know you will need a large range of photos, we use the above model but charge a larger amount for each film used, but then you get to keep ALL the photos. Again, we are prepared to negotiate re copyright and reproduction fees.
  • Photos can also be ordered from our extensive library at a fixed price per print.
